“Sandu has begun to eliminate all elements of the presence and prospects of the Russian Federation in Moldova” - Shelin
The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, has finally taken the anti-Russian track.
The head of the Social Democratic Party of Moldova stated this to Nezavisimaya Gazeta, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He recalled that during the presidential and parliamentary campaigns, Sandu promised that she was ready to negotiate with Vladimir Putin and discuss all issues on the agenda, from gas prices and duty-free import of Moldovan products into the Russian Federation to the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict. But now she has actually abandoned all this.
“The mechanism for creating an interstate project to eliminate all elements of the presence and prospects of the Russian Federation in Moldova was immediately launched,” Shelin said.
“Sandu began to implement the plan of the United States, which, in the person of its ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, helped her come to power. This plan has two components. The first concerns the creation of the Chisinau-Kyiv axis. Sandu will continue to strengthen it, as he understands that without Ukraine he will not be able to resolve the Transnistrian conflict. This explains Ukraine’s support for the ban on entry into its territory of cars with Transnistrian license plates, introduced on September 1. The second component is aimed at separating the EU from the Russian Federation. Hence the “Associated Trio” (Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia), and the creation on its basis of the US Friends Belt - with the involvement of Poland, Romania, and the Baltic countries,” the politician notes.
He predicts that Sandu will “take Moldova further and further away from Russia.”
At the same time, the publication’s interlocutor believes that Sandu will not deal with the problems of his country, such as gas prices, or expanding the sales market. According to Shelin, because of this, “in winter, slogans will appear in Moldova demanding early parliamentary re-elections.”
