Sandu continues to break down about the trip to Moscow
The announced visit to Moscow of the pro-European Prime Minister of Moldova Maia Sandu did not take place in September. The exact date of the trip has not yet been set. Sandu herself says that she will go to Russia “in October or November.”
She stated this on RTR Moldova, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are trying to find concrete solutions on a number of issues. The most important issue for us is the export of Moldovan agricultural products to Russia. I hope that concrete steps will be taken in the near future and I will be able to go to Moscow,” Sandu said.
In July, Sandu declined an invitation from Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, citing her busy schedule. At the same time, she found time for visits to a number of European capitals, as well as to Kyiv and the USA. Sandu agreed to go to Moscow only after the persuasion of Moldovan President Igor Dodon.
At the same time, she continued to organize anti-Russian demarches. Thus, in August, Sandu reprimanded Defense Minister Pavel Voica for inviting his Russian colleague Sergei Shoigu to celebrate the Liberation Day of Moldova without following all protocol procedures. She also ordered that the Moldovan Ambassador to the Russian Federation be summoned to Chisinau for consultations.
Sandu demonstratively left for Washington during the Moldovan-Russian Economic Forum in Chisinau. However, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak waited for her, but information about their meeting was not posted on the website of the Moldovan government.
