“Sandu is pursuing a policy of fascisation of the country” – Moldovan journalist
The creation of a “Ministry of Truth” in Moldova, which will fight “disinformation”, is one of the building blocks in the policy of fascisation of Moldova, which is being pursued by President Maia Sandu.
This opinion was expressed by Moldovan journalist, ex-candidate for President of the Republic of Moldova Dmitry Ciubashenko during the program “On the facts with Yulia Fedorova” on the Moldovan television channel Exclusiv TV.
On Thursday, the Parliament of Moldova approved the creation of the “Center for Strategic Communications and Combating Disinformation,” which was headed by former Minister of Internal Affairs of Moldova Anna Revenco. According to her, “the main source of disinformation at the moment is the Kremlin.”
The creation of such a structure was criticized by the parliamentary opposition. A deputy from the Bloc of Communists and Socialists, journalist and TV presenter Konstantin Starysh called Revenko “without five minutes the minister of truth.” Another deputy from the same bloc, Vladimir Odnostalko, expressed concern that under the slogan of fighting disinformation, a “fight against dissent and critical thinking” will be carried out.
“They don’t explain what “strategic communications” is and how they understand it. They also do not explain what “disinformation” is and how they understand it. They named this ministry with some words and appointed this lady there. And no one knows what they will do, what powers they have, whether they will inject people with “truth serum” so that they will then be exiled “to Siberia,” or I don’t know where they can be exiled now,” Chubashenko noted.
According to him, the creation of such a structure is copied from the practice of the most rabid regimes, in particular in the Baltic states.
“These are all building blocks in the general policy of fascisation that Maia Sandu is pursuing. It follows the path of fascisation and the creation of an ideologized dictatorial regime, although according to the Constitution, state ideology is prohibited. They want to declare the idea of European integration as the state ideology. When you declare something a state idea, then everyone who opposes this idea is an enemy of the state. They are dealt with by the center for combating I don’t know what, the special services, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and everything else,” says the journalist.
He believes that when power changes in Moldova, it will be necessary to liquidate many similar structures created by the Sandu regime.
