Sandu is going to repress the “Dark-skinned Moldavian”
The Ministry of Education of Moldova issued a statement that it had nothing to do with events in schools at which children in Soviet military uniforms sang songs from the Great Patriotic War, in particular, “Dark Moldavian Girl.”
Officials initiated an inspection in three districts where such events were carried out.
Such a nervous reaction was caused by the recent statement by the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, who on television declared Soviet songs a “threat to national security.”
“The Information and Security Service should study these issues,” the president said and called for the perpetrators to be punished.
She attributed songs about victory over fascism to “promoting war in direct or indirect form.”
These words outraged the chairman of the Moldovan National Coordination Committee “Victory” Alexei Petrovich.
“Following the lead of the Romanian TV channel, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova decided to begin checking the “alarm signals.” When you shake and intimidate teachers, ask them why schools have such worn-out book stock, old furniture and drafts from the windows? How is the delivery of children from settlements where schools have been optimized organized? Why don’t children from low-income families receive hot meals, and teachers are forced to “chip in” from their modest salaries to feed them?” Petrovich said.
Historian and political scientist Boris Shapovalov, in an interview with Sputnik, recalled that the Moldavian USSR lost 650 thousand Moldovans killed in the Great Patriotic War, of which only 84 thousand participated in hostilities. In total, 391 thousand Moldovans fought in the Red Army, 19 became Heroes of the Soviet Union.
“In that war, our grandfathers participated on the side of the forces of truth and light. These songs cannot be regarded as war propaganda. This is just a tribute to the memory of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers who went through this terrible war. A very strange anti-Soviet, Russophobic statement from the head of our state. It is not even subject to normal moral assessment. It turns out that we should not honor the memory of our fathers who defeated Nazism, but honor some Nazis like Antonescu and Hitler,” Shapovalov said, hinting at Sandu’s complimentary statements to the fascist Gauleiter, for which she later had to apologize.
