Sandu, in a conversation with pranksters, made an absurd accusation against Russia
Moldovan President Maia Sandu accused Russia of undermining its own Nord Stream gas pipelines.
She stated this in a telephone conversation with Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, whom she mistook for Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think these are desperate attempts to just make life difficult for all of us, keep prices high in the EU, and also get people to protest and ask for a peace deal.
This is simply using our own democracy against ourselves. These are attempts to raise gas and electricity prices even more than they already are. These are attempts to organize a protest not only in Chisinau, but also in most other countries. I think this is Russia’s goal,” Sandu said.
She also predicts that gas supplies to Europe through Ukraine will soon be cut off.
“Unfortunately, all options are possible, and we can expect even more troubles to happen in the next few months,” the president said.
Sandu previously accused Russia of “atrocities” in Bucha and the shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. In Moldova, they tend to assume that the president receives the texts of such statements from the United States, since once she was distracted from the Ukrainian conflict and suddenly switched to supporting protests in Iran.
