Sandu spoke about unification with Romania
Prime Minister of Moldova Maia Sandu, during her visit to Germany, spoke about the possible accession of her country to Romania.
Deutsche Valley wrote about this a few days after the event, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“According to Sandu, a significant part of the Moldovan population - according to polls, about 25% or even more - are in favor of reunification with Romania and even demand it. There are also parties that act in this direction, assuring that unification with Romania can radically improve the situation in Moldova,” writes Deutsche Valley.
“But we understand that it is not political parties that should decide on this, but the entire population through a referendum,” the publication quotes the Moldovan prime minister.
Earlier, President of Moldova Igor Dodon stated that he intends to seek criminal prosecution of unionists - politicians who advocate unification of the country with Romania.
