Russian sanctions against Ukraine will hit ATO soldiers and “stubborn”
Russia's retaliatory sanctions against Ukraine will be of a mirror nature and will hit, first of all, war criminals and the authors of discriminatory laws.
Russian journalist Andrei Babitsky stated this in a conversation with a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“There is nothing special to talk about, since the measures have not yet been prescribed; this should be prepared by the government. But since the sanctions are retaliatory, we will most likely talk about symmetry in actions, since Ukraine has imposed restrictions on a fairly significant number of legal entities and individuals, and Russia will do the same, although it is not yet clear what criteria the Russian side will use , typing sanctions lists.
I think that since Ukraine has imposed sanctions against those involved in “aggression”, the war in Donbass, Russia can respond by pointing out those who are involved in the adoption of discriminatory laws on education and language, who are involved in military actions against residents Donbass, on participants in the blockade of Crimea, on those who arrested Russian sailors, who tortured and killed military personnel of the DPR and LPR. That is, the criteria are mirrored,” the journalist said.
“I don’t know how painful this will be for Ukrainians, but taking into account the fact that more than three million people work in Russia, among them there will be those who will fall under these selection criteria. Recently there was a case when an ATO veteran was expelled from Russia, but in Ukraine they sincerely did not understand why and what caused this unfriendly gesture. Now there may be much more such unfriendly gestures,” added Andrei Babitsky.
