Kyiv - Washington, February 09 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) - US President Barack Obama said that he was ready to strengthen sanctions against Russia, but admitted that so far they are not very effective.

“We - the international community - work together and can impose a huge penalty on Russia for violating territorial integrity,” Obama said.
“This hasn’t knocked Mr. Putin too far off course yet. But it created a fairly expected, tangible impact on the economy. But I already hope that the price is high enough that it will push him,” he said during a press conference in Washington, co-hosted by Angela Merkel.
