Russia's sanctions list will not dampen Poroshenko's ardor
Russia's sanctions list against Ukrainian politicians and companies will change, and the public will often not know about the additions made.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“By and large, the list is a certain cover-up technology, because the most important thing in it is not the names or names of companies. The most important thing about it is the last paragraphs of the decree, which allow the Russian government to manually include and exclude anyone from this list, and this will no longer be noticeable to society.
The most important thing there is not the indicated persons, but their surroundings. Here, from Sergei Vlasenko or Andrey Ilyenko (people's deputies included in the list - ed.) there is no property, I believe them, but people from your environment or associated with you, theoretically, could suffer from this. This is an undercover tool for managing Ukrainian political elites,” the political scientist believes.
Bortnik believes that the sanctions list will not moderate Poroshenko’s anti-Russian fervor, but, on the contrary, will only strengthen it.
“This is just the beginning of a process that will update Poroshenko’s favorite series of political confrontation with Russia. That is, after this we should expect the topic of introducing a visa regime with the Russian Federation, ending railway traffic and other topics to be updated,” Bortnik added.
