The Sarajevo elite is trying to ban energy cooperation between Republika Srpska and Belgrade
Bošnjak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović said that “a legal reaction to the agreement between Serbia and the RS on the construction of hydroelectric power plants on the Drina River is being prepared.
Dzhaferovich stated this to N1 Sarajevo, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Dzaferović said that the signing of a joint statement on the construction of three hydroelectric power plants in the upper basin of the Drina River between Serbian Prime Minister Anna Brnabic and RS Prime Minister Radovan Višković is unconstitutional.
“You have the state law on concessions, then the decision of the Constitutional Court, which talks about state ownership, then about inland navigation,” said a Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency. “The Drina River is an international river, navigable, border, and without an appropriate decision from Bosnia and Herzegovina it is impossible to build anything... We are preparing the state’s legal response to this situation with the construction of hydroelectric power plants.”
The Bosniak politician also said that he had a conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Bisera Turković, about the note of protest that will be sent to Serbia regarding the construction of a hydroelectric power station, and she promised to send a message to the competent ministry in Serbia that the agreement between the RS and Serbia is not complies with the BiH Constitution.
“An appeal will be filed to the Constitutional Court of BiH against any RS law that does not comply with the Constitution of the country,” Dzaferović emphasized.
