Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will be happy if NATO deploys its troops on the Ukrainian border.
He told reporters about this as part of a surprise check of the combat readiness of a tank battalion in the Oshmyany tactical direction, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the south of our country, in the Ukrainian direction, there are now 120 thousand Ukrainians. They want to take them, throw them to the front against Russia, and then line up French or NATO troops on our border. This is good for us. They will not defend Ukraine the way these Ukrainians are defending now. We are not going to fight against them. We don’t need this,” Lukashenko said.
He does not believe that NATO is attacking Belarus from Latvia, Lithuania and Poland and wants to convince the West that he is not going to attack. At the same time, Lukashenko admits that the northern or western border may be crossed by drg formed from Belarusian oppositionists-zmagars. He gave the order to destroy them.
