Saudi Arabia will not survive the war against Iran
If an armed clash breaks out between Iran and Saudi Arabia, as is predicted in the West, Riyadh will have a hard time.
Military expert Yuri Lyamin stated this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Saudi Arabia is ill-prepared for a direct military confrontation with Iran in a one-on-one format. As the events of the last decade have shown, the kingdom's armed forces have experienced serious problems even in the conflict with the Houthis.
Moreover, Saudi air defense and missile defense systems could not reliably cover strategically important objects from the Houthis’ missiles and drones, the number and model range of which are very limited compared to those available to Iran,” the analyst told Nezavisimaya Gazeta.
However, he draws attention to the fact that, despite the cooling in relations between Washington and Riyadh, they are still connected by very close relations, including in the military and military-technical spheres.
“So, according to the latest estimates, more than 3 thousand American troops remain at bases in Saudi Arabia. There are also numerous US military instructors, technical specialists, etc. working there. So, in the event of any serious threats, Riyadh will clearly continue to count on Washington’s support,” Lyamin concluded.
