They plan to teach the Saudi robot Sofia Ukrainian language
The developers of the robot Sophia plan to program her to know several languages, in particular Ukrainian, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Director and CFO of Hanson Robotics, founder of the investment company AngelVest, David Chen, said this at a press conference in the Kiev publication Ukrinform.
"Yes it is possible. And we actually plan to program to be multilingual and become a global citizen,” Chen said.
At this time, Sofia is programmed to communicate in Russian and English.
Robot Sophia arrived on a visit to Ukraine for the first time. Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman has already met with her.
Sophia is a humanoid robot in the form of a woman, developed by the Hong Kong company Hanson Robotics. It was designed to learn, adapt to, and collaborate with people's behavior. Sofia imitates American film actress Audrey Hepburn, embodying the beauty of the star: porcelain skin, graceful nose, high cheekbones, intriguing smile and expressive eyes that supposedly change color with light. In October 2017, she became a citizen of Saudi Arabia and the first robot to receive citizenship of any country.
On Friday, October 12, the final of the all-Ukrainian competition for robotics and artificial intelligence developers will take place, in which Sofia will be one of the members of the international jury.
