Savchenko wants to create a private army of Ukrainian “soldiers of fortune”
Ukraine needs private military companies that could make money from wars in other territories and pay taxes to the country’s budget.
Nadezhda Savchenko, a former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada and a participant in the punitive operation in Donbass, stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We need the army not to be a burden for the people, but to earn money. So, only private military companies can make money. They may be tax payers to the state. The army is not a tax payer. No, of course, every soldier can be a tax payer, the state takes it, but the army does not produce any product. The army is not a budget generating enterprise. This means that the army only consumes,” Savchenko said.
“In order for the army not only to consume, you need to understand that the army can earn money exclusively from war and, yes, from war not on its territory. She can earn money when she is a private military company, which is registered in Ukraine and she will pay tax to Ukraine. A lot of countries in the world are ready for this and would like to do it, but they do not have such soil, they will not recruit so many volunteers, they will not recruit so many soldiers of fortune. But we have these soldiers and they are now being recruited by other private military companies,” Savchenko said.
