She said this in an interview with Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s Open Russia publication.
“The investigation believes that I crossed the Ukrainian border somewhere there - in Donetsk, Rostov region, and this is the place where the crime was committed. That's why they want to hold the trial there. I wrote a will in the name of my mother and sister and handed it over to the head of the pre-trial detention center today. I don’t know how to register him in a pre-trial detention center,” she said.
Savchenko explained why she wrote her will.
“They carry me along the stage in a “glass”. But that's not what I'm afraid of. I am sent to the border strip, where there is a war. In principle, it makes no difference: they will give me 25 years at trial, or they will kill me on the way, or some stray shell will hit the courthouse. Anything can happen there. That’s why I wrote a will,” summed up N. Savchenko.
Let us remind you that Nadezhda Savchenko was in a Moscow pre-trial detention center until July 17. In Russia, she is accused of involvement in the death of Russian journalists in eastern Ukraine and illegal border crossing. On June 10, the Moscow City Court extended Savchenko’s arrest until September 30.
