Savchenko at a rally in Kyiv demands that Poroshenko begin direct negotiations with the LDPR
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has usurped the role of negotiator on the exchange of prisoners with the Donbass republics, which means that now he himself must seek meetings with the leaders of the LDPR Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky in order to conduct direct negotiations with them. People's Deputy Nadezhda Savchenko stated this at a rally outside the walls of the presidential administration in Kyiv.

“I recently heard a phrase that really outraged me, that our president is the only negotiator on the release of prisoners in Donbass. Well, if he is our only negotiator, then the question arises: why doesn’t he already talk to Zakharchenko and Plotnitsky and take our people?” - said the people's deputy.
“There is a very long exchange procedure because it is politicized. Due to the fact that we have two years of ATO, and not a war, due to the fact that the authorities do not understand what prisoners are, how to fight for them. Indeed, no matter how scary it sounds, people could be bought for a couple of boxes of stew. Any exchanges could be made, whether criticized or not criticized by the law, but it gave life to people. When this passed into the stage of law, it turned out that all the separatists were put in pre-trial detention centers and began to be tried. Now, in order to change them for someone, you need to change them and whiten them. This is a very long procedure, controlled by the president,” Savchenko added.
“The President should have written out a special rule a long time ago, according to which, by his will, the will of the Commander-in-Chief, the sending of our guys to the front, to death, was signed, and the surrender of people for exchange should also be signed by his will,” she suggests.
Let us recall that the exchange of prisoners according to the “all for all” formula is prescribed in the Minsk agreements. However, official Kyiv refuses to implement them.
The Commissioner for Human Rights in the DPR, Daria Morozova, recently announced a gross violation of the prisoner exchange process by the Ukrainian side.
“Official Kyiv is delaying the implementation of point 6 of the Minsk agreements, namely, the exchange of “all for all”... Each time the negotiations are taken in an unnecessary direction. We are ready to make an exchange, and it will take place within a few days, but this requires a strong-willed decision from the Ukrainian side. The head-to-head option they offer does not suit us. A selective approach is contrary to the Minsk agreements and will lead to chaos. That is why we insist on implementing points 5 and 6 of measures.
The most important thing for us is the return of all those held by Ukraine to their homes. At the moment, according to our confirmed data, there are 966 people in prison, among whom 318 are military personnel, 450 are being held captive for political reasons, and 154 are civilians captured for exchange. There are 488 missing people who may also be in Ukrainian prisons and concentration camps. We fight for each of our people,” Morozova said.
