Savchenko shared New Year's fears about Russia's offensive
The adoption in the DPR of a law on borders that includes all territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions could give the Russians grounds to attack areas controlled by Kyiv as soon as their sale begins after the opening of the land market in Ukraine.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Nadezhda Savchenko stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The issue of Donbass remains in our minds, in our souls, more dear, more difficult. Because people have learned to survive for five years. Someone died, someone was killed, but people adapted to those realities. At the moment we see that they are still putting a time bomb into resolving this issue.
We simply look at symbols. Symbols, beacons, markers, as they say. The marker is that the DPR, the LPR doesn’t seem to exist yet, is starting to invent and pass some laws there on the borders of the unrecognized republics. These boundaries affect the territory of the region.
This means that with the same land market, when we start selling agricultural land in the unoccupied territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, Russia’s encroachments will immediately begin. She can go there to defend the Russian world, these are supposedly their borders,” Savchenko said.
“The question is, why so fast? Because we were late. Some people think that it is not too late, some are already saying that these territories are lost, the conflict is frozen, some want to believe that it is possible to perform a miracle and turn the world upside down, and correct what has happened in five years went wrong.
