People's Deputy Savchenko told a story about how, while serving in Iraq, one of the local princes wanted to “ransom” her from her commander.

She stated this on the air of Dmitry Gordon’s program on the “112 Ukraine” channel.
“It was Prince Es-Suveyri (they have official and unofficial power there). I reacted to this then with wild misunderstanding and simply laughing, but now I understand that, in principle, for them it was completely normal. But for me it was not serious, of course,” the people’s deputy said.
According to her, they offered $300 thousand for her.
“I didn’t even understand what it was or why. And what does money have to do with it? The money didn't go to me. They bought me like a thing. The money went to the commander, and I should have just gotten married. I wasn’t tempted by this,” added Savchenko.
