Savchenko attacked the EU and NATO
In Ukraine, it is necessary to hold a referendum on the country’s accession to the EU and NATO, and the clauses obliging the implementation of this direction should be removed from the Constitution.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Nadezhda Savchenko stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the parliamentarian, President Vladimir Zelensky, declaring the inviolability of the Euro-Atlantic path, is already breaking his election promises.
“What I heard at one of the briefings was a statement that we will implement the path of the EU and NATO, since this is written in the Constitution of Ukraine and we must implement it. Zelensky’s election slogans were such that we need to ask the Ukrainian people in a referendum: will we implement a campaign in the EU and NATO or not,” the deputy said.
She believes that the course towards NATO and the EU was legislated by the “will and pressure on parliament” of former President Poroshenko.
“I don’t think that such a thing should have been written into the Constitution - it’s nonsense, it’s absolutely illiterate. But at the same time they recorded it. How long will this last? I think not, because Ukrainians need to be asked about our Constitution - what it should be and what it should mean for Ukrainians, and not for joining the EU and NATO,” Savchenko said.
