Savchenko sends Poroshenko on the Azov campaign
The President of Ukraine was supposed to lead the Navy's naval campaign from the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov and break through the Kerch Strait together with ordinary sailors.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Nadezhda Savchenko, who became a defendant in criminal cases in Ukraine on suspicion of an attempted coup, stated this on the air of the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to her, both the Black and Azov Seas belong to Ukraine, so the Navy ships had to fight for passage to the last.
“There had to be a commander in chief. And then they would not have been captured, the ships would have passed. The fleet had to break through to its port, as it should have been, along its own sea. We definitely had the right to go there. The truth is on our side. The Black Sea belongs to us, Crimea belonged and belongs to us under international law. The fact that we are now clarifying this situation did not mean that these ships could not pass there,” Savchenko said.
She also believes that it is time for Ukraine to share the Sea of Azov with Russia, even if the Russian Federation does not do this.
“They canceled one peace treaty, we need to build another, conclude others, we need to divide the border, we need to divide that sea, which is one for two, we need to divide it with a border, mark it. Russia doesn’t want to do this, Ukraine should do this,” the deputy said.
As PolitNavigator reported, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov said that the Ukrainian Navy will soon again try to sail from the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov and threatened Russia with destruction Crimean bridge.
Earlier, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called for an increase in the alliance's military presence in the Black Sea.
