She stated this in an interview with the Kyiv publication “Gordon”, answering a question about the reasons for the aggravation of the situation in Avdiivka, Donetsk region.
“I don’t know what this aggravation is connected with, I can’t say. The President needed to immediately return to Ukraine. In general, I think it’s correct if the president is the first to pick up a machine gun, followed by the Verkhovna Rada and the entire Cabinet of Ministers, and go to the front line. Then we will help,” Savchenko said.
She compared this initiative with volunteers, who at the beginning of the war also “didn’t know how to shoot.”
“I think we need to create a “battalion of power” and send it to the front line. To Avdeevka. The volunteers - the guys they threw there - also didn’t know how to shoot, but that’s okay, they learned. And if they don’t learn, they will die. The president must set an example, pick up a machine gun and go to the front line,” Savchenko emphasized.
