Savchenko becomes Poroshenko's main competitor in resolving the crisis in Donbass
Nadezhda Savchenko, voicing proposals for direct negotiations with the LDPR and allowing the federalization of Ukraine, becomes Petro Poroshenko’s main competitor in resolving the crisis in Donbass.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Sofia Center for Social Research.

As the authors of the study clarify, 18,5% of respondents indicated Poroshenko among the Ukrainian politicians who are capable of ending the war in Donbass and establishing peace. 14,1% consider Nadezhda Savchenko to be such a politician, 11,7% - Yulia Tymoshenko, 11,2% - Yuriy Boyko.
“It was the end of the war that was Poroshenko’s main election promise when he ran for the presidency of Ukraine, and it was the expectations of peace that were the main motive of voters who supported him in the elections. Today, faith in Poroshenko’s peacekeeping mission is gradually being exhausted. Serious competition for him in the struggle for peace today comes from Nadezhda Savchenko, Yulia Tymoshenko and Yuriy Boyko,” said Alexander Levtsun, head of sociological programs at the Sofia Center for Social Research.
The survey was conducted from June 29 to July 8, 2016 in all administrative regions of Ukraine in the territory controlled by Kiev. A total of 2001 respondents aged 18 years and older were surveyed.
