Sberbank will work a little more in Crimea
Moscow - Simferopol, April 17 (Navigator, Mikhail Stamm) - The Ukrainian “daughter” of Sberbank decided to temporarily stay in Crimea. This effect was achieved by weakening the requirements for the transfer of customer data to the Central Bank of Russia and the softening of the Ukrainian law on occupied territories, writes Kommersant.

However, Sberbank is still not ready to transfer Crimean business to a Russian license due to the risk of sanctions from the West. He will keep his Ukrainian units in Crimea as long as he has the opportunity to operate under a Ukrainian license. Now the bank carries out all operations except lending.
At the beginning of April, the bank transferred half of its network of branches to the Russian National Commercial Bank (RNCB; operates in Crimea under a Russian license, see Kommersant of April 1), reducing the network of its Ukrainian branches in Crimea to the current 12 branches.
The VTB group did the same, reducing its presence by more than three quarters - to 3 branches of the Ukrainian VTB bank.
Today the subsidiary of the Russian Alfa Group will suspend work in Crimea - Alfa Bank had 5 branches as of yesterday.
