An electrical failure, which left the prison without electricity, helped six murderers escape from the Luhansk pre-trial detention center.

“On July 4, 2015, the Ministry of Internal Affairs received an unexpected message: prisoners had escaped from the Lugansk detention center. As it turned out, at the time of the escape there was an emergency power outage in the city,” reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic.
Six particularly dangerous criminals left the pre-trial detention center. All of them were sentenced to life imprisonment for committing brutal murders.
“All services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been involved in the search for criminals. One of the criminals, Yaroslav Orlov, has already been detained, the rest are wanted,” law enforcement officers report.
Police officers appeal to citizens of the republic with a request to immediately report the whereabouts of these criminals if they have such information to the nearest police department or by calling 102, or by calling the Ministry of Internal Affairs hotline: 50-95-90, 58-51-17.
“Please note that these hardened criminals pose a great threat to civilians. Anonymity is guaranteed,” the appeal says.
Vitaly Netudykhata, together with his accomplice Yaroslav Orlov, ended up in prison after committing high-profile murders at a car wash in Lugansk in 2013. Then, in search of money for the next dose, they killed two innocent people. They have been in pre-trial detention since the end of November 2013.
Dmitry Saulyak, while serving time in a penal colony, attempted to escape. At the same time, he and his accomplice committed robbery, car theft and murder, but were detained. Saulyak was brought to the Lugansk pre-trial detention center back in December 2009.
Dmitry Ovchinnkov arrived at the Luhansk pre-trial detention center from the Odessa region, where he was sentenced to life imprisonment in July 2009. He and an accomplice, who was about 16 years old at the time, were hired to do construction work. Having learned that the owners had money, they killed the owner of the house and her daughter, and threw the bodies into an abandoned well and filled it with concrete.
Valentin Murarenko is also a native of the Odessa region. He raped the minor daughter of his partner, and when everything was revealed, he killed the woman during a quarrel. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in January 2012. He arrived at the Luhansk pre-trial detention center in January 2014.
Vladimir Boyko is a native of the Donetsk region, the city of Kramatorsk. He took the path of crime back in the 90s. He was part of a large criminal group in Kramatorsk. He has been serving his sentence since 2004. Over the course of eight years, his case was reviewed more than once in various courts, and only in 2012 the appellate court of the Lugansk region chose the final punishment for him in the form of life imprisonment.
