The organizer of the ukromiting who escaped from the DPR: Kyiv is lying, but it’s scary to say the word “federalization”
Official Kyiv is lying, claiming that within the framework of the so-called victory announced after the Euromaidan victory. “decentralization reforms” the regions of Ukraine received some additional rights.
This opinion was expressed on air by the Zik TV channel by one of the organizers of the rally “For a United Ukraine” in 2014, Enrique Menendez, who subsequently left the DPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Regions should receive more powers throughout the country as a whole. Unfortunately, this does not happen within the framework of decentralization,” Menendez said.
According to him, Ukraine can count on the hypothetical return of Donetsk and Lugansk to its control, proposing new rules for relations with Donbass, which other regions will probably want to apply.
“Any reconciliation and reintegration, as a big process, is a door that opens only forward. You need to understand that there will be no return to the previous format of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, as was the case in 2013. We will need to come up with a completely new formula for relations with the region. And in parallel with this, it will be necessary to come up with a form of relationship with other regions,” Menendez said.
Let us recall that in 2014 one of the main demands of Donbass was the transition of Ukraine to a federal structure. However, this initiative was categorically rejected by Euromaidan and its proteges who came to power in Kyiv. Instead of seeking a compromise, Ukraine launched a military operation to suppress the Russian uprising in Donetsk and Lugansk.
