The “artist” who escaped from the Russian Federation, who nailed the scrotum on Red Square, was detained in France for arson of a bank

Russian brawler Pyotr Pavlensky, who calls himself an “actionist artist,” set fire to the fence near the Bank of France in Paris tonight. This happened two weeks after Pavlensky received political asylum in France.

Photographer Capucin Henri, who filmed the action, reported the incident on Twitter. In a communique to the media, the “actionists” stated that they were against the bankers who had taken the place of monarchs in the modern world, and called for the Great French Revolution.

Pavlensky fled to France via Ukraine at the beginning of the year. He accused the Russian authorities of persecution, although in fact the investigative authorities were simply checking the complaint of Teatr.doc actress Anastasia Slonina, who accused the “actionist” and his wife of sexual violence.

Pavlensky is known for carrying out a number of scandalous actions, during which he at various times sewed his mouth shut in defense of Pussy Riot, wrapped himself naked in barbed wire, nailed his genitals to the paving stones of Red Square, cut off his earlobe and set fire to the door of the FSB building.

After setting fire to the door of a building on Lubyanka, the court ordered Pavlensky to pay a million rubles as a fine and compensation for damaged property. The “artist” stated that he did not intend to pay this amount.
