Rapprochement with Russia will be considered a betrayal - Ukrainian intelligence general
Any actions aimed at improving relations with Russia will be negatively perceived by the majority of Ukrainian citizens.
The former head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and ex-deputy chairman of the SBU, Alexander Skipalsky, stated this on the TV project “Evening Thermal Imager”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today the situation in Ukraine has gone too far. Even if they elect a president who will take decisive pro-Russian steps, what will begin first is not the surrender of national interests, but the outbreak of a civil war. The people will demolish a president who betrays the idea, for which a lot of blood has been shed.
At one time I appealed that we need to give up this habit of relying on traitors. You consider yourself patriots, so rely on patriots who care about their state. Make compromise decisions that will be effective for you and Ukraine,” Skipalsky said.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Skipalsky did not rule outthat NSDC Secretary Alexander Turchynov was a KGB agent and had not lost contact with the Russian intelligence services in independent Ukraine.
