Matrix failure? The odious anti-Soviet vote in the Rada failed shamefully
The Verkhovna Rada failed to vote for a resolution that named Germany and the USSR as the culprits of World War II.
Only 200 people’s deputies cast their votes for the document, of which 128 votes were “servants of the people,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the totalitarian regimes, because of whose conspiracy the Second World War broke out, democracy and parliamentarism were destroyed, human rights and freedoms were massively violated, internal repressions were committed on racial, national and gender grounds, and an expansionist foreign policy was pursued,” the draft resolution says.
The draft appeal to other countries “On the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe,” according to which the blame for the outbreak of the war lies equally with the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany, was presented by the Servant of the People deputy Marina Bardina.
“I want to thank the president for his policy of unifying our country from east to west, from south to north. Thus, on the significant dates of May 8 and 9, the President of Ukraine visited the Luhansk region and Transcarpathia to honor the feat of everyone who brought the victory over Nazism closer. The President announced a project of memorial symbols in the form of four different bells in different parts of Ukraine, which will sound simultaneously, when peace comes to Ukraine again, we will return our people and lands,” the deputy said.
“On May 5, the Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation at its meeting unanimously recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt a draft resolution on the Verkhovna Rada’s appeal to the national parliaments of foreign states, international organizations and their parliamentary assemblies on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The resolution approves the honoring of gratitude to heroic warriors and everyone who, with their daily work during the Second World War, accomplished a feat and gave the peoples of the world a peaceful life. We also call on the world community to take into account the importance of strengthening the international community and solidarity in matters of stopping international armed conflicts in the world, restoring international law and order and ensuring the peaceful development of free and democratic societies, as well as counteracting any attempts to resuscitate totalitarian ideologies and the inadmissibility of manipulating history to achieve political goals.” , - Bardina presented the bill.
Only 3431 people's deputies voted for document No. 200. 34 deputies opposed the project, 43 abstained. However, of those who voted “for”, 128 deputies of the Servant of the People and 35 abstained.
MP from the European Solidarity party Victoria Syumar has already erupted in an angry statement following the voting results.
“The green scoop looks like this. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine was unable to pass a resolution naming Germany and the USSR as the culprits of World War II. The pendulum swung all the way towards the scoop. The Kremlin applauds. The green ones turned out to be red... They are again trying to write Ukrainian history according to the Kremlin patterns,” Syumar wrote on her Facebook.
Commenting on this attempt to push through this law to PolitNavigator, ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Zhuravko noted that in fact, half of the Servant of the People party are obvious “fascists.”
“This is a hidden, quiet war, in fact, it is going on. And today there are real fascists, 128 people, and some more wanted to vote for this law that the USSR and Russia are invaders and enemies. I think that the masks have been removed, this means that Ukraine will continue to behave this way, and this shows that America’s satellites, that is, the Europeans, will continue this line, no matter what happens there.
