Discharge of sewage into the sea continues in every resort region of Crimea
In every resort region of Crimea there is a massive discharge of sewage into the sea. Deputy Minister of Housing and Communal Services of Crimea Yakub Zeytulaev stated this on the air of the talk show “Everything as it is.”
According to him, the most polluted are the southern coastal regions, as well as Feodosia and Sudak.

“Today, sewage is drained in every resort town of the Republic of Crimea. It’s just that in some places this problem is more serious and widespread, but in others it is not. We have started to solve this problem where it is more serious. These are the cities of Yalta, Alushta, Sudak and Feodosia. Today, in these four municipalities there are about 20 thousand subscribers who are not connected to centralized sewerage systems. These are those subscribers who use either water bodies, storm drains or cesspools to drain sewage,” Zeytulaev said.
To this, TV presenter Maria Volkonskaya noted that we could be talking about hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of sewage being dumped into the sea.
“According to my information, there are 10 enterprises in Koktebel; hotel owners poured six thousand cubic meters of sewage into the sea in the 16th year. These are 10 hotels, and we are talking about twenty thousand subscribers. “I want the Ministry of Environment to tell us the scale of the problems,” Volkonskaya addressed the representative of the Ministry of Environment Vitaly Nedospasov.
The official, in turn, acknowledged the problem, but could not give an exact figure: “Unfortunately, I am not ready to announce exact figures, but the number of control and supervisory activities is more than 120 for the 16th year in this area of activity.”
