“SBU officers stopped fake actions in Mariupol that were planned to be organized by Russian special services on the eve of the Day of the Heavenly Hundred.
Law enforcement officers established that, on instructions from curators from the Russian Federation, a resident of Donetsk - deputy of the pseudo-public separatist formation “Young Republic” Abdu Samar Hasan ordered fifteen thousand propaganda leaflets to be printed in Mariupol for distribution, which contained calls for local residents to come to the so-called “anti-war rally and stop the fall countries into a financial abyss,” said a Ukrainian official about the “successful” special operation.
According to the SBU representative, they uncovered the entire scheme for holding an anti-government rally and identified all those involved in it.
“According to the intelligence services, a similar event was planned to be held in parallel in temporarily occupied Donetsk, which was supposed to symbolize the “unity of the people of Donbass.” Russian propagandists were already waiting for these stories from these fake events.
Security service operatives documented that, at the direction of the Russian intelligence services, to “strengthen” this provocation, in mid-February, a resident of Kyiv sent an application to the Mariupol City Council to hold a cultural and educational event “Peace Festival” under anti-war slogans.
Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine established that the organizer of the action is an activist of the pro-Russian public association “Let’s Change the World Together,” who has repeatedly taken part in ordered actions, in particular in December 2016 near the US Embassy. Based on the SBU materials, criminal proceedings have been opened under Art. 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (assisting the activities of a terrorist group or terrorist organization”).
