SBU is terrorizing Orthodox Christians using methods from the times of Austria-Hungary – Rusyn political scientist
SBU, performing team of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, given to him by the West, force Ukrainian Orthodox to “pray differently.”
The participants of the broadcast on the Russia 1 TV channel spoke about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I know many representatives of the Ukrainian clergy and laity. Many people will not implement these decisions that Zelensky made today. This will lead to repression, to the murders of many priests and ordinary parishioners who will oppose everything that will happen,” said former Verkhovna Rada deputy from Odessa Igor Markov.
“I really hope that, thanks to our actions, they will not have time to begin implementing the plan. I am awaiting a statement from the Patriarch on this matter. There is a situation where, in such a development of events, he can ask the President of the Russian Federation to stand up for the Russian state to defend the Russian Orthodox Church and save the lives of the clergy and Orthodox believers,” Markov added.
In turn, political scientist from the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine Vasily Vakarov drew some historical parallels.
“This is pressure from the SBU and Zelensky, who issued a decree, I don’t know how this will end. But it is quite likely that this will turn into the most powerful, here I agree with Markov, internal resistance of Orthodox Christians inside Ukraine.
I see the materials that the SBU shows on their channels, they are funny. In one of the churches in Transcarpathia, the monks were asked why you carol and sing “Rus”. He tried to explain to them, these SBU officers, ignoramuses - listen, we sang these carols in 1914, when the Austro-Hungarian Empire fought against Russia and then the current, relatively speaking, so that the Russians could understand, “Bandera” came to my great-grandfather and to others, and forced them to pray differently,” he recalled.
“They are now trying to do the same thing through the SBU officers, who are illiterate and do not know history, but the people who tell them to do this, they know very well,” Vakarov said.
