In Donbass, even Ukrainian-speaking residents are “absolutely zombified,” the recently appointed deputy head of the SBU, former deputy of the Sevastopol City Council and ex-head of the city’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vitaly Malikov, admitted in an interview with the Liga publication.

According to him, now even Ukrainian-speaking residents of Donbass are opposed to the actions of the central government.

“When you talk to the locals, even though they speak a rich Ukrainian language, they are absolutely zombified,” he said.

“So we have a lot of work to do in terms of information. We are also involved in information operations. And we are deploying them, in principle, quite well... Not a single army will hold the occupied territories if the locals understand that they do not need all this. And the SBU is working on this, among other things,” Malikov assured.
