SBU has busted a scheme for the mass transfer of migrants to the EU using fake passports
Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed an interregional gang that illegally transported citizens to European Union countries, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in a message from the SBU press service.
“Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office, exposed an interregional organized group, whose members organized the illegal transportation of Ukrainians and foreigners to EU countries,” the report says.
As noted, two residents of Chernivtsi and four residents of the Kyiv region organized a scheme for illegally transporting persons across the state border of Ukraine.
“The attackers, through intermediaries, looked for potential clients and bought forms of official domestic and foreign documents. The dealers produced counterfeit passports and other travel documents in clandestine laboratories in the capital region. The cost of the “package of documents”, depending on the complexity, reached up to three thousand euros,” the message says.
At the places of residence of the attackers, law enforcement officers seized equipment for making false documents, cliches for making seals and stamps, forms, samples of documents and other material evidence.
Currently, two members of the gang have been declared suspicious, and the issue of announcing suspicion to the other four members is being decided.
