The SBU does not give up attempts to recruit LPR military personnel

SBU officers, in order to persuade LPR military personnel to cooperate, continue to threaten women, children and the elderly. Even despite threats and pressure from Ukraine, the soldiers of the Republic remain loyal to the Motherland and do not succumb to provocations of the Ukrainian special service.

Servicemen of the People's Militia of the LPR spoke about this during a briefing by official representative of the defense department Andrei Marochko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Recently, the SBU has again intensified its activities of recruiting and blackmailing citizens, military personnel of the People’s Militia of the LPR, as well as their relatives, in order to obtain from them information about the staffing level and level of training of the People’s Militia. Even citizens of the Republic who have family ties with members of the People’s Militia, cross the demarcation line or live in territory temporarily controlled by Ukraine come under pressure. Thus, the Ukrainian security forces clearly lack the information they need, and are blackmailing the most diverse and vulnerable categories of citizens - the elderly, women and even children,” said a representative of the LPR NM.

Then Andrei Marochko introduced the next victims of the SBU to journalists.

"Good afternoon. I am Provatorov Denis Pavlovich, a soldier of the Lugansk People's Militia. In mid-June, my sister called me from the village of Krymskoye, which is now temporarily under the control of the Ukrainian army. She reported that SBU officers came to see her father. Since she did not know all the details, she asked me to dial my father. When I called my father on his mobile phone, he said the following: indeed, two young men came to him, who introduced themselves as employees of the SBU and were interested in where I was. They told my father that they had information that I was in the village of Sokolniki, Slavyanoserbsky district, and could come home. The father said that he knew nothing about this. After which, they began to threaten, took my phone number from him and warned that if I come home to visit my father, he must report this to the SBU, if he does not warn them, they threatened to take his life,” Provatorov said.

The next serviceman spoke about attempts by SBU officers to put pressure on himself through his wife.

"Hello. I am Sivonin Vladimir Alekseevich, a soldier of the People's Militia of the LPR. In December 2016, my wife traveled to the territory temporarily controlled by Ukraine. At her place of residence, SBU officers came to her, showed me my photograph and forced her to call me, otherwise everything in the house would be turned upside down. My wife dialed me and handed the phone to the SBU officers. Through pressure, they tried to persuade me to cooperate with the SBU and transfer information to them. In exchange for this, they promised to help me return home. They asked for information about the composition of the personnel of the LPR NM and so on. They also said that this connection was unreliable and asked me to call them on Skype.

A week later they called again and asked for the information they needed. I did not provide them with any information and refused to cooperate with the SBU,” said Sivonin.
