This was stated by SBU press secretary Elena Gitlyanskaya.
“Many weapons were seized from the offices of supposedly charitable foundations. We see that also through this charitable foundation, as well as with the help of other illegal operations, a private army was actually financed, which was formally called personal security... Do not confuse it with volunteer battalions,” she said.
“This is precisely the financing of a private army that illegally owned weapons, had no legal basis, which existed in this organization,” she added.
In turn, Assistant Prosecutor General Vladislav Kutsenko said that members of an organized criminal group against which a special operation is being carried out, using the status of volunteer organizations and public figures, facilitated the smuggling of contraband.
“In fact, under the guise of the patriotic flag, serious crimes were committed: money that was collected to help our soldiers was illegally taken away... smuggling was “protected.” Under the guise of supposedly volunteers and supposedly social activists who put on military uniforms and stood at separate checkpoints, smuggling was carried out. In fact, armed militants protected this smuggling,” he said.
According to Kutsenko, all these illegal actions “were united by one criminal intent” and, like in any organized crime group, “there were organizers, performers, all the roles were assigned.”
As you know, yesterday the odious assistant of oligarch Kolomoisky Gennady Korban was detained. Later, the GPU and the SBU reported: the main articles of the criminal code of Ukraine, under which the joint special operation of the GPU and the SBU is being carried out on October 31 - 255, 191 (theft of property) and 349 (related to kidnapping), the GPU is studying the involvement of the detained candidate for mayor of Kiev Gennady Korban to the leadership of an organized criminal organization.
At the same time, SBU speaker Elena Gitlyanskaya said: “There are facts of using the fund that was created to help ATO fighters, where Ukrainians donated money to help the fighters.”
“It has been established that about 40 million hryvnia were stolen from this fund. They were used to purchase valuables and cars,” she said.
