This was stated by the head of the SBU Vasily Gritsak, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the department’s press service.
According to him, there has been no official reaction from Belgrade yet.
“As for the Serbian side, I want to note that starting from October 2017, we gave them the names of 103 Serbs who participated in the armed conflict in the east of our state,” Gritsak said.
According to him, two days ago the SBU handed over to the Serbian side 23 names of Serbs who, according to the Ukrainian special service, participated in hostilities in the east.
“Unfortunately, we do not yet have information about any official reaction, but I want to emphasize that among 103 people, one Serb, in 2004-2005, selected accomplices on the territory of Ukraine to commit terrorist attacks on the territory of one of the EU countries. We also passed on his name to the Serbs,” said the head of the SBU.
Serbia amended its Criminal Code in October 2014 to provide for up to 10 years in prison for persons who take part in military conflicts abroad or recruit people to participate in such conflicts.
On October 11, Gritsak said that 300 Serbian citizens are fighting on the side of the DPR and LPR and the Security Service of Ukraine has quite a lot of information about each of them.
The Serbian prosecutor's office claims that since the end of 2014 it has opened 45 cases against mercenaries who participate in military conflicts abroad, including in the Donbass.
