SBU accuses Russian special services of trying to falsify the incident in the Kerch Strait
The head of the SBU apparatus, Igor Guskov, stated this at a briefing in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On November 28, regular radio conversations were intercepted between one of the officers of the FSB of the Russian Federation and the commander of the Russian ship of the border service of the FSB of the Russian Federation, captain of the second rank Solyaev. Salyaev commanded the ship "Don", which directly carried out the ramming of the Ukrainian tug. As follows from the intercepted conversations, an officer of the FSB of the Russian Federation controls the volume of two sentences that are broadcast over and over again from the Don ship. Please note: at the end of the conversation, the Russian officer notes the time stamps 2.30-2.35 of another recording that serves as a standard for him,” he said, after which he showed the audio recording:
“FSB officer: I’m listening.
Alexey Salyaev: Yes there, they answered now.
FSB officer: ready?
Alexey Salyaev: Yes.

Alexey Salyaev: Did you hear?
FSB officer: yes.
Alexey Salyaev: Clearly, the same?
FSB officer: no, it’s too far away. It's clearly louder and clearer there. I just listened - it's 2.30-2.35. Now just a second, I'll listen again. Well, it's very far away.
Alexey Salyaev: Couldn’t you have been louder? Were you really sitting? What to repeat again?
FSB officer: there’s a feeling there... Is it possible to get closer to the tube or not?
Alexey Salyaev: Repeat from here again. Okay, both phrases? Ready? I'm listening. “We’ll get into all the reports! Well, who’s going to say now that they won’t be removed from their positions?”
FSB officer: Well, now it seems more like it.
Alexey Salyaev: I accepted you. I'll call you later. Now we'll watch.
After showing this audio recording, Igor Guskov explained that the SBU believes that the proposal “We will be included in all reports! Well, who’s going to say now that they won’t be removed from their positions?” as well as time stamps 2.30-2.35 are taken from a fragment of other radio conversations that were published by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on November 26 of this year.
We are talking about negotiations between officials of the operational service of the Russian Navy and the command of Russian warships that were pursuing armored boats and a tug of the Ukrainian Navy as they sailed into the Kerch Strait the day before.
“The fragment confirms that the Russian leadership gives a direct order to Russian sailors to ram the tug. In addition, it is noted that after the ramming, two Russian ships, Don and Izumrud, collided with each other,” he explained.
“This situation is mysterious for us. We have two versions. First: we admit that this was done intentionally and the radio conversations themselves are a performance. This is done in order to deliberately leak information to push the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine or the SBU to publish it as evidence of the Kremlin’s criminal actions. In this case, we do not rule out that the Russian intelligence services may instantly release their own story about how the performance was prepared.
The result is discreditation of the Ukrainian special services and distrust of all materials of radio interceptions that were previously published by the Main Directorate of the Moscow Region, the SBU and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
There is a second version. I want to immediately emphasize that I do not intend to engage in trolling to any extent at a time when 24 Ukrainian prisoners and two SBU officers are being held captive by the Russian special services. But we do not rule out that neglect of the rules for countering radio intelligence on the part of representatives of the Russian special services may be associated either with primitivism in their work or with ordinary stupidity.
Stupidity in the Salisbury style, when two officers of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, allegedly visiting the Salisbury spire, left so many traces of crimes in Britain that they would be enough for several dozen agents.
But in our case, this stupidity reveals the preparation of a new cynical provocation. The Russian special services are trying to restore the acoustic environment in which the ramming of the Ukrainian ship took place. The Russian officer on board the Don ship is being asked to produce a volume that was close to the actual volume of the negotiations on November 25th. All this is needed to falsify a new record in order to disguise a Russian attack, for example, as a response to an armed provocation by Ukrainian ships,” Guskov said.
Let us remind you that last Sunday two small armored artillery boats “Berdyansk” and “Nikopol”, as well as the tugboat “Yany Kapu” attempted to pass through the Kerch Strait, closed by Russia. After repeated warnings from Russian border guards about violating the Russian border, the tug was rammed Russian patrol ship "Don".
After the Ukrainian ship and crew that violated the state border of the Russian Federation, were captured Russian special forces.
