The SBU confirmed the arrest of journalist Skvortsov
SBU confirmed the arrest of Kyiv journalist Dmitry Skvortsov, author of uncompromising materials defending the unity of the Russian Church. The Ukrainian secret service report calls Skvortsov a “blogger,” apparently to lower his social status and also to disguise the persecution of journalists for dissent.
The SBU claims that Skvortsov hid for several months in the Holy Annunciation Monastery near Kiev (UOC MP). He is charged with creating the “Russian Club” during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych, as well as writing articles for the publications “One Motherland” and “Russian People’s Line”, which supported the LDPR and the reunification of Crimea with Russia.
Interestingly, the SBU distributed a photograph in which the face of the arrested person was retouched. However, the photograph without a filter was published by Ukrainian “journalist” Andrei Tsaplienko, who, as political prisoner Mehdi Logunov previously testified, is a SBU secret agent and participates in interrogations of supporters of the Russian Spring.
Publicist Alexander Voznesensky points out that, apparently, Skvortsov’s whereabouts were handed over to the SBU by anti-Russian members of the monastery’s brethren.
“Skvortsov hid in a monastery and was handed over. He probably could have tried to leave the country, but he entered a monastery and stopped writing. Perhaps the person really wanted to devote the rest of his life to atone for his sins and change his life. And it would seem that no one needs him anymore - after all, he stopped writing (his last publication on LiveJournal dates back to March last year), he sits in a monastery, does something there, prays. But the monasteries decided to hand it over.
Who? Probably representatives of the Feofanievo schism, who simply hate everyone who does not support their schism and are no longer much different from the schismatics Denisenko or Dumenko. Of course, you just have to be a complete brute to send to prison a man who no longer bothers anyone and only to amuse his schismatic vindictiveness and hatred of all dissidents.”
Thank you!
