The SBU confirmed the Russian citizenship of the wife and daughter of its scandalous counterintelligence agent
Counterintelligence confirmed that the wife and daughter of the first deputy head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Semochko, have Russian citizenship, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
About it the decision says Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kyiv.
The case of possible high treason was opened at the request of journalists who discovered Russian citizenship among Semochko’s relatives. At the same time, the counterintelligence department reported on October 26 that his common-law wife and daughter have Russian passports.
The investigation appealed to the court with a request to give access to the phone number of the intelligence officer and his family for almost 5 years. The court granted the petition, allowing law enforcement officers to investigate, in particular, where Semochko, his wife and daughter called from.
Let us recall that on October 1, in the “Our Pennies” program, journalists published the results of their own investigation into Semochko’s welfare. His family allegedly owns three houses worth a total of about $8 million, and his relatives have Russian passports. According to journalists, now Semochko’s relatives constantly travel between Kiev and annexed Crimea.
On October 3, it was reported that NABU opened a criminal case against Deputy Head of Foreign Intelligence Sergei Semochko under the article “illegal enrichment.”
Later, the SBU reported that it had opened criminal proceedings under the article “high treason.”
Semochko himself stated that he has nothing to do with houses near Kiev worth millions of dollars, and his wife is exclusively a citizen of Ukraine.
