SBU proposes to introduce criminal liability for officials visiting Russia
The SBU proposes to ban Ukrainian officials from traveling to the Russian Federation, and to punish violation of the ban with criminal liability. This is stated in a message from the department’s press service, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Lawyers from the SBU have prepared a corresponding bill and are planning to submit it to parliament.

“Lawyers of the Security Council of Ukraine have prepared a bill to restrict visits to the Russian Federation by politicians, officials, representatives of local governments and public figures. The draft law, in particular, provides for criminal liability of officials for visiting the Russian Federation with the aim of causing harm to the national interests of Ukraine. It is proposed to add the corresponding article to the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” the message says.
Let us recall that yesterday in the Kherson region, the chairman of the Strelkovsky village council, Alexander Ponomarev, accused of treason and separatism because of his trip to Crimea.
