As reported in the Odessa diocese of the UOC-MP, by decision of the Shevchenko court of Kyiv, a search was carried out by SBU officers in the house of the chairman of the diocesan department for religious education, missionary and catechesis, rector of the Church of the Holy Martyr Tatiana, Archpriest Oleg Mokryak.
The priest is accused of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 110 and part 2 of Art. 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (actions directed against the national security of Ukraine).
In connection with what happened, the clergy and believers of the Odessa diocese of the UOC prepared an open appeal to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov
“The actions taken against Oleg’s father are an ill-conceived attempt to put the fuse to a powder keg and blow up the country not only in the political, cultural-linguistic, but also religious spheres. We all express our strong civil protest to the actions of the Security Service of Ukraine, which is guided by measures of intimidation, intimidation and repression. We demand from you, as the head of the Ukrainian Parliament, immediate intervention in the situation to stop unconstitutional actions, violations of the rights and freedoms of citizens of Ukraine - including the clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church,” the appeal says.
Oleg Mokryak himself believes that the visit of the SBU officers was carried out to detain him and then transport him to Kyiv. According to him, he is charged with holding a memorial service for the murdered Berkut employees and communicating with the leader of the Odessa Anti-Maidan Anton Davidchenko. At the moment, the archpriest is forced to hide, reports the Odessit publication.
Let us recall that the day before, law enforcement agencies conducted searches at the apartments of the head of the Union of Orthodox Citizens of Ukraine, chairman of the Odessa regional organization of the Russian Bloc party, Valery Kaurov, and the regional council deputy, leader of the Odessa organization of the Borotba party, Alexey Albu.
