SBU hides secret correspondence of Russian oligarchs financing the war in Ukraine – media
The massive seizure by the Security Service of Ukraine of mail servers from the country's largest providers may be an attempt to hide information about Russian oligarchs who sponsored the Azov, Aidar and Right Sector battalions. This was stated by two Russian information technology specialists.

“As we know, the external counterintelligence unit of the SBU, under the pretext of suspending the activities of four websites from the largest domain registrar and one of the largest hosting service providers in Ukraine NIC.UA, seized almost all equipment,” he said "KP" Alexander Panov, partner and general consultant for information technology at Kontakt-Expert, leading information technology expert at the Federal Research Center Analytics and Security agency, ex-CEO of RU-CENTER.
A few days later, the same SBU unit seized more than 130 servers from the Stephost provider in the largest hosting center in Kharkov, Panov recalled.
According to him, the SBU is hunting for information on local delivery mail servers. “This is one of the most secure ways to exchange confidential information,” explains Panov. – This exchange is not visible to search engines, since these servers do not have a website. No information is saved on users’ computers either.”
In Russia, it is impossible to set up a mail server and maintain the confidentiality of correspondence; in the West, such things are monitored by the CIA, explains Sokolov. And Ukraine has long been a place where confidentiality of correspondence could be maintained. Therefore, oligarchs and politicians of the Russian Federation who negotiated with Ukraine used Ukrainian servers.
What kind of information this could be, KP was explained by the former head of Boris Berezovsky’s security service, expert of the Federal Research Center “Analytics and Security” Sergei Sokolov. According to him, the information is connected with Russian oligarchs who finance the Right Sector.
“A number of wealthy Russians are making financial investments in the war in Ukraine. These are the people who received capital in a not entirely honest way. And they are now investing in the Aidar, Azov and Right Sector battalions,” says Sokolov. – They simply invest money in the power that now reigns in Ukraine in order to receive some bonuses - land, factories for next to nothing or something else. And Ukraine now, you need to understand, is going under the hammer.”
Now the SBU, fearing that their correspondence will fall into the hands of the Russian special services, is trying to cover them up, the analyst says. But, according to Sokolov, the SBU reacted late: most of these servers are already in Russia.
