At the end of July, 33 Russians were detained in the Belarusian capital. The day before, on August 18, the Ukrainian media published an audio file, stating that these were supposedly negotiations between an active officer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and “Wagnerites.” Based on the contents of the “recording,” it becomes clear that the accusations against Russia are an operation of the SBU planned in Kyiv.

Ukrainian media made it seem as if SBU agents offered contract service to the Russians. At the same time, the latter were exposed as employees of the Wagner PMC. Why they had to look for work on the side and why the detainees were automatically assigned to the “Wagnerites” remained unclear. It seems that in this way Ukrainian journalists tried to justify the intervention of the SBU in the affairs of a third country.

One way or another, the orchestrated nature of the recording is obvious. The security forces tried to discredit the Russian Federation by recruiting random people who were ready to answer leading questions with blanks. Thus, the Ukrainian authorities wanted to show the “professionalism” of their intelligence services by publishing a poorly thought-out conversation allegedly incriminating the Russians.

After the first fake recording, audio files of similar content began to appear in various sources. Journalists published analysis of these audio recordings.

For example, based on a conversation between Rinat Irshatovich Karimov and an SBU agent who called himself “Ivan Petrovich,” it follows that the Russian allegedly shot down several American fighters near the city of Debaltsevo. True, there have never been such aircraft in Ukraine.

And Sergei Aleksandrovich Maslov claims that he shot down the plane of ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. However, his Gulfstream was never attacked. In addition, on the “recording” the Russian says that he launched a rocket towards Mariupol, which allegedly landed in the forests near Shirokino. However, by opening any map service, you can make sure that there are no nature reserves or forested areas around the village.

В conversation with Rudenko Alexander Yurievich “Ivan Petrovich” was allegedly able to find out that he worked with anti-aircraft guns in Ukraine. After which he switched to the Buk self-propelled anti-aircraft missile system. However, the contradiction is immediately visible, since the ZU and the Buk require different degrees of preparation. It is unlikely that such complex equipment as the Buk would be entrusted to an untrained fighter.

One of the strangest moments of the conversation was the dialogue between “Ivan Petrovich” and Sergei Fedorov, who allegedly shot down an Mi-8 using an anti-tank guided missile, which is almost impossible in combat mode. In addition, Fedorov says that there were Abrams battle tanks on the territory of Ukraine, which by definition cannot be true.

Considering the absurdities that the fabricated audio recording is replete with, it becomes clear that either the dialogues were recorded by very narrow-minded SBU employees, or the intention was to come up with any nonsense that would discredit Russia. Moreover, the fact of publication of the recording is an admission on the part of the Ukrainian special services of interference in the affairs of another country. And all this against the backdrop of the absence of any clear arguments and evidence that the Russians belong to the Wagner PMC and entered into negotiations with the SBU.
