The SBU is “rummaging around” the “bins of the Motherland”
Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Kiev Prosecutor's Office are conducting searches at the central office of the State Reserve Agency and the state-owned enterprises "Zlatodar" (Cherkasy region) and "Bread Baza No. 85" (Kharkiv region) in connection with the investigation into the movement of grain, reports correspondent for PolitNavigator.
This was announced by the head of the State Reserve Vadim Mosiychuk.
“The inspectors are guided by the decision of the Pechersk court to seize documents on the movement of State Reserve grain from the Kharkov region to the Cherkasy region. The main reason for this is the destruction by the State Reserve of the so-called “hornet’s nest” - corruption schemes developed over the years at the State Enterprise “Bread Base No. 85,” Mosiychuk wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, on April 17, First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv signed a decision on a simultaneous unscheduled inspection of the State Reserve and on the protection of state secrets based on the results of the SBU inspection.
“We officially declare that we are open to an objective investigation and will provide all the necessary documentation,” Mosiychuk said.
At the same time, the State Reserve appealed to the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, the Cabinet of Ministers and people's deputies with a request to intervene in the situation and take control of this criminal proceeding to prevent violations of the current legislation.
The head of the State Reserve drew attention to the fact that previously criminal proceedings had been opened regarding the possible inclusion of low-quality Lithuanian diesel fuel in the state reserve. However, the purchase did not take place, no damage was caused to state interests and public funds were not used.
The Prosecutor General's Office also investigated the facts regarding possible damage by State Reserve officials to 18 thousand tons of diesel fuel, which was deposited in 2015 by Vogue Aero Jet LLC for long-term storage in the State Reserve. The quality of diesel fuel was checked in all respects and fully met the requirements. No information about the commission of a criminal offense was established.
