This was reported by the press service of the SBU, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Apparently, we are talking about Farukh Kamalov, who performed his duties from April 2015 to May 2016. The detention occurred when the former deputy minister crossed the Kalanchak checkpoint in the Kherson region.
“Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine established that the former Ukrainian official from April 2015 to May 2016 held the position of deputy of the so-called Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Crimea. After being released from office, he continued his anti-Ukrainian activities as part of the working group to create the State Program of the Occupation Power “Patriotic (military-patriotic) education of citizens of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Crimea.” Recently, the attacker held the position of secretary of the Regional Branch of the Russian public organization “Voluntary Society for the Assistance of the Army, Aviation and Navy of Russia.” The activities of this structure are aimed at violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” the statement says.
Ukrainian counterintelligence officers received information that the detainee plans to leave Crimea for the Kherson region to resolve personal issues. He is accused under Part 1 of Art. 111 (high treason) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
