The SBU staged a raid on Kharkov businessmen for trading with the DPR
Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine detained several residents of the Kharkov region who were supplying food to the DPR.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Based on the results of the activities carried out by SBU officers, a group of residents of Kharkov and the region was identified who, using the so-called “hidden transit” scheme, shipped food industry goods to the addresses of front foreign companies. After crossing the state border of Ukraine, these goods illegally entered the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region.
According to preliminary information, goods worth a total of more than 8,5 million hryvnia were exported through this illegal scheme. Fees and taxes on products sold on the territory of the “DPR” were paid in favor of quasi-state entities of the terrorist organization,” the statement says.
The detainees were informed of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 1 of Art. 258-3 (assisting the activities of a terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for one of the defendants with the right to post bail in the amount of 4,5 million hryvnia. The question of the future fate of other participants in the scheme is still being decided.
