The SBU in Kyiv conducts searches in the apartments of journalists of an opposition publication
The SBU is conducting another search in the editorial office of the Ukrainian opposition publication Strana, as well as in the apartments of journalists. The editor-in-chief of the publication, Igor Guzhva, stated this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Guzhva said that the search was taking place as part of a new criminal case “about state secrets.”
We're having a search. Conducted by the SBU. Both in the editorial office and at the homes of several journalists. In a new fabricated case of state secrets. Details later,” wrote Guzhva.
In the comments under his message, lawyer Elena Lukash said that she had already left for the scene.
The head of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, Sergei Tomilenko, clarified in his blog that the security forces are putting pressure on the publication because of a certain flash drive on which the secrets of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine are allegedly recorded, and which was in the possession of the editorial office: “A new surge in the actions of the security forces against the publication.” Country” and its journalists... Investigative actions are being carried out by SBU officers allegedly in the case of a flash drive about “state secrets,” Tomilenko said.
“The searches are in connection with the case of state secrets, which were allegedly found on some kind of flash drive... Searches are being carried out at the editorial office and at the homes of two other journalists. Moreover, the SBU officers verbally say that they are looking for... a flash drive. Paradox. If they have already found a flash drive with state secrets, then why do they need another one. Or was there a note on birch bark attached to that flash drive: “look for another one on the second day after the lunar eclipse”?
Working version - no state secrets were found on any flash drive. The case was opened “out of the blue” so that, firstly, the SBU could take away all the seized equipment from the police and rummage through it. Secondly, to gain the right to carry out operational investigative actions and harass us with all sorts of searches, put us on wiretapping, etc. Since on the first point (in the seized equipment), apparently nothing was found. We decided to proceed to point two – searches and nightmares,” Guzhva himself confirmed a little later.
Let us remind you that earlier Guzhva was detained on charges of extorting 20 thousand dollars from Verkhovna Rada deputy Dmitry Linko from Oleg Lyashko’s party for allegedly refusing to publish compromising evidence about political forces. On June 26, Guzhva was released on bail in the amount of 544 thousand hryvnia.
