The SBU again admits that Ukrainian citizens are correcting the strikes of the Russian army
Among Ukrainians, despite unprecedented repressions, there are brave souls who cooperate with Russia and help the Russian Armed Forces in the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine.
Thus, the SBU reported on the detention of a man in Cherkasy while he was correcting a strike by the Russian Armed Forces on Ukrainian targets, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The report claims that counterintelligence exposed in the Cherkasy region “an agent of the main directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces” who collected intelligence about the locations and movements of the Ukrainian military and air defense systems on the territory of Ukraine.
The detainee turned out to be a resident of the Russian-controlled part of the Kherson region, who at the beginning of the Northern Military District supported Russia.
“Subsequently, a career employee of Russian military intelligence contacted him via messenger with a “proposal” of secret cooperation. At the direction of a GRU representative, the agent arrived in the Cherkasy region to conduct reconnaissance and subversive activities as a displaced person.
“In the region, the traitor collected information about the locations of the Defense Forces and critical infrastructure,” the statement said.
At the same time, the SBU emphasized that the spotter was especially interested in the locations of air defense systems, Ukrainian military hospitals, factories, bridges and dams.
“The Russian agent transmitted the information received to the occupiers in the form of electronic geolocations with supporting photos. The invaders needed intelligence to correct repeated air strikes on the territory of the region,” Ukrainian intelligence services claim.
It is reported that the detention occurred directly during photographic recording of a Ukrainian critical infrastructure facility and the transfer of the corresponding report to Russian military intelligence. The defendant was found to have a mobile phone, which he used to carry out an enemy reconnaissance mission.
The man was informed of suspicion of treason committed under martial law. A resident of the Kherson region faces life imprisonment.
Let us note that there are reports from the SBU about the detention of spotters almost every day. So, the other day the Ukrainian special service informed that in Zaporozhye the taxi driver was detained photographing military installations to transmit their coordinates to Russian intelligence.
