SBU blocked military supplies from Zaporozhye
Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine blocked the export of military goods from the country in Zaporozhye, subject to mandatory state export control, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The SBU press center reported this.
“Special service operatives established that a group of businessmen, using a controlled commercial structure, received orders from representatives of one of the East Asian countries for the supply of components for armored vehicles and military transport aircraft. SBU officers documented that the attackers were going to send another order through one of the international courier delivery services and seized 72 units of aviation components that were planned for shipment,” the report says.
During searches in the premises of a commercial structure, law enforcement officers found more than 120 units of radio-electronic components and components for armored vehicles that were planned for international transfer, counterfeit seals and stamps necessary for the production of a package of documents, and fictitious documentation about the origin and quality of components.
According to experts, the seized products are exported solely on the basis of the relevant permits issued by the State Export Control Service of Ukraine. “Illegal supplies of goods could create the basis for accusing our country of non-compliance with international regimes on the non-proliferation of military and dual-use goods, as well as discrediting the country’s national export control system,” the intelligence service concluded.
