“On September 1, the SBU counterintelligence detained three members of a sabotage and subversive group - residents of Pavlograd, Dnepropetrovsk region - led by a local businessman, owner of construction and trading companies. The attackers, following instructions received from Russian curators, were preparing explosions at a large industrial enterprise in the region,” the SBU press service claims.
The department stated that, according to the plan, “these terrorist attacks were supposed to destabilize the situation in the region, sow panic among the local population and recall part of the Ukrainian military from the ATO zone.”
“During the searches, explosives, anti-Ukrainian propaganda materials and means of communication with Russian intelligence officers were confiscated from members of the criminal group. It was established that the attackers coordinated their subversive activities with the leaders of representatives of the self-proclaimed DPR,” the intelligence service reported.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier strategic facilities were taken under special control in the southeastern regions.
